Hello

hello – come in and make yourself at home

The Woodies have a blog. It’s a kind of collective. Not sure we’re about to start a revolution baby, but we might kindle a small debate or two and perhaps raise a smile. Anyway, rather than just blogging corporate Woodreed by fielding our top Woodie (as so many other companies seem to do in a thinly veiled attempt at impressing with their profundity), we wanted all our individual voices to be heard. An agency’s most valuable assets are its people after all. Everyone’s got something to say here and with us everyone’s ideas and opinions matter.

Each week someone different will be blogging. It's mostly about stuff that rocks our world as well as the flipside – the things that just don't cut it with us. We'll blog about inside and outside – inside this glorious industry where we work and outside in the real world.
It's a bit of an experiment, so go with us on this one.

Hope you enjoy.

Countdown to Christmas

I'm sure this is not going to be a popular one but oh well!

I am one of the few people who do like an extended run up to Christmas. December 1st just doesn't leave enough time! For me, clocks going back and the start of early evenings marks the start of an acceptable run up period.

To celebrate, I had my first "Christmas special" sandwich of the season and will be keeping my eye out for the all important Coca-Cola Christmas TV ad which always marks the real start of Christmas for me. I'm sure I'll have seen it before the week is out.

Everything seems just more Christmassy now and I love it! So sorry all of you "it just gets earlier and earlier" lot, as far as I'm concerned the countdown starts now!

  1. Ele! No, no and another no! It starts when Ocado deliver the mega order and the bird is collected from the village butcher! Or maybe when the tree is put in the lounge and decorated which always causes a family fight!

  3. Although this early count down spirals down to cunning companies maximising their marketing opportunities to the public, I am completely with you on this one Ele. Christmas is such a fun filled, happy time, so why not make it last as long as possible? The only thing left to do is work out how to make the snow come even earlier this year and it will be perfect!

  4. Well maybe Morrisons will come and turn the Pantiles into a Dickension Christmas wonderland again, who knows

  5. The only thing I like about Christmas is seeing and feeling children's happiness and joy. The rest of it is money making gone mad.
